Motorcycle classes

A116 years125 cm³ · 11 kWA218 yearsup to 35 kWA24 years*no limit* 20 with two years on A2
The higher the class, the more powerful the motorcycle and the higher the minimum age.

The motorcycle classes are stepwise, so you gain experience before riding the most powerful bikes. A1 from age 16: light motorcycle of at most 125 cm³ and 11 kW. A2 from 18: at most 35 kW. A covers all motorcycles, from 24, or from 20 if you have held A2 for at least 2 years.

Example

You got A2 on your 18th birthday.

You can then take class A when you have held A2 for 2 years, that is from age 20.

The training includes compulsory courses, among them safety courses on a track and on the road. You learn a lot from them.
