Passing cyclists
Cyclists may wobble, swerve round potholes or be caught by the wind. Keep a good sideways gap when you pass, at least 1.5 metres, and move fully into the other lane when it is clear. If there is no room, wait behind until there is. Remember cyclists and pedestrians when turning right too, and look for them in your blind spot.
Example
You come up behind a cyclist on a narrow road, and a car is approaching.
Slow down and stay behind the cyclist until the oncoming car has passed. Then pass with a good gap.
Do not sound the horn to say you are coming. The horn is only for warning of danger.
